St. John Francis Regis

Early Childhood Center

The Early Childhood Center is an NAEYC accredited center and is licensed by the state of Missouri.  We serve children from birth to five and also operate a school-age program for the children of St. Regis School.  In the summer we operate a summer care program for school age children.

The Center was established in 1988, and is located in the convent building on the East side of the St. Regis parking lot.  We serve 47 families in our Early Childhood Program and about 35 families in our school-age program.  We operate year round.  Our hours of operation are from 6:30am to 6:00pm.

Philosophy, Policies, and Guidelines

Mission Statement:
Recognizing the treatment of our children in the measurement of our fidelity to the Lord.  Our program serves to provide families in our parish and members of the surrounding community, with a safe and developmentally appropriate Early childhood setting for their children.  We recognize that quality Early childhood education enhances the lives of children, their families and our community.  We, as a parish hope to build a lasting relationship with your family and welcome you into our community.

Philosophy:
As a state licensed facility, the St. Regis Early Childhood Program is devoted to the development of the whole child; physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually.  Our philosophy is based on the child development theories of Jean Plaget, Erik Erikson, and Maria Montessori.  We base our spiritual philosophy on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
