St. John Francis Regis Knights of Columbus & Ladies Auxiliary May 28, 2006
The St. John Francis Regis Knights of Columbus invite all men to join the Knights of Columbus and their wives to join the Ladies Auxiliary. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works. The St. Regis Council # 13671 of the Knights of Columbus was established in 2005. In the last year the Knights have held numerous activities including: Kansas City Trivia Night, Punt Pass and Kick Contest at Parish Tailgate party, Free Throw Contest, Essay Contest, Parish Hospitality Sunday, New Years Eve Party, Tootsie Roll Drive for Mentally Handicapped, Roses for Life Campaign and Mother's Day Carnations. At the Little Sisters of the Poor members of the council helped put up walls in the storage shed and install screens on a porch. Many members participated in the Parish Cleanup Day and built storage cubbies for the school. The Ladies Auxiliary participated in many of these activities plus held Pictures with Santa. They are preparing a cookbook to sell to raise funds for a pair of defibrillators and held a Baby Shower for Birthright. The Council donated funds to St. Regis Grade School, Birthright, Missouri K of C Religious Information Bureau, Foundation for Inclusive Religious Education, Venture Crew 2553 Boy Scouts of America, Outreach Center for Holistic Learning, O'Hara Fall Sports Program, and O'Hara After Prom. The Council recently donated 60 bibles and 20 flags to St. Regis School. Members of the Knights of Columbus are active in many parish activities and serve on numerous parish councils.
